Excerpt
We set off again. This time Libby was in the passenger seat and I was driving. I did two things, the first, I lit a cigarette.
I know it is a bad habit, but I enjoy a smoke.
‘In two hundred yards keep right’
The strange thing is I cannot smoke while I am a passenger. You see the way I hold a cigarette… well, it is in the wrong hand if I am not driving. I mean the window is on the wrong side of my smoking hand… Oh hell, you know what I am saying.
Ok, the second thing I did was turn the volume of the darned Sat-Nav down. I did not want that woman shouting at me again, making me jump out of my skin and possibly crashing.
‘At the next roundabout take the third exit’.
Her, the sat-nav's voice was still loud and clear, but she was no longer calling out at the top of her voice. I followed her instructions and continued to head north.
I glanced at Libby.
She was the one now sleeping; huddled down in the seat she looked angelic, which in my mind she was. Libby was my darling angel.
Within a few miles, a thick, heavy dark layer of omnipotent grey storm clouds filled the sky and blocked out most of the daylight. I adjusted my driving position, sitting a little more upright.
I switched my headlamps on as I peered into the gloom ahead.
‘At the junction turn right’.
In this dim half-light, the woman’s voice coming from the Sat-Nav seemed somewhat reassuring rather than an annoyance as it was earlier.
The heavy atmosphere was interfering with the radio signal.
I changed channel by reaching down and pressing a few buttons, until I found one playing something soft and gentle, something relaxing, which was not as affected by the storm as some others....

Have you ever wondered what would happen if your sat nav suddenly started talking back to you? I can’t say I ever have. But what if it did? Then you should read this book.
An interesting tale of a young couple being more than guided by their navigation system. It’s freaky and could be scary if it happened. And it does happen in this short read, You’ll get pretty much sucked in and I eagerly kept turning the pages to find out what happens.
Entertaining
A compelling story where a car Sat Nav system comes to life, holding a conversation, reading your thoughts. Scary, intimidating but is it a life saver? Check this one out.
You seem to have a rather eclectic and, possibly, humorous view of the foibles of humans and technology. But this book at 27 pages and $134, astounds me. I have published stories here three times that length.
The write up for this one is repetitious and tells very little. I guess if you gave us a reasonable excerpt, you'd have to give us the whole story. ;-)
