When Skye visits her ailing great-grandfather in his isolated house on the wild West Coast of New Zealand, she's hoping to expose some family secrets. But she ends up with more than she bargained for. She discovers a cousin, Josh, whom she never knew existed. She begins to uncover the reason for the animosity between her mother and her aunt. But then Skye spends a night at a camp set up by Josh's eco-warrior protest group (who are trying to stop an opencast coal mine in a pristine mountain valley) and she is caught up in another web of deception and double-cross. She struggles to do the right thing - but in the end, all she can do is ... run for her life.
