About the book
Lives entwine sometimes things or parents do come back to hurt their children. And Sometimes those hurts make them stronger.
Eighteen years ago Nisha lost both of her parents to a tragic fire. Or at least that is what she had been told. Something always felt wrong about the story. Something off to the point that it didn't make sense yet no one had ever wanted to believe her.
Not when she became Queen of the Under Kingdom when she was barely thirteen. Not When her powers started to grow to frightening results. No she had decided after she was crowned the Queen of Darke as her mother had planned then she would find all the answer that she wanted... regardless of who or what stood in her way.

Chapter 1 : Larna
She stood towering over her mother's body. Her golden sword plunged into the heart of the woman who had given her life. Holding her translucent black wings still, she glanced over her shoulder, her father's lifeless head on the floor but a few feet away from where his body had fallen. He had been the last Feyen warrior to fall.
The last before her mother.
Her mother's blood was already starting to pool around her body. Not the red lifeblood that most fey had, no her mother's was blue. An oddity unto it's self. Watching the blood seeping out of her body, she could have spat on her face for making her take this drastic measure. But if she did it would ruin her plans, and that she wouldn't do. "You should have listened to me mother. Now look at what has become of you."
Pulling her blade free she used it to cut the fabric of her golden gown. Made sure the cut on the fabric mirrored the cuts on her own skin. Not deep enough to hinder her but deep enough to look like she had escaped the slaughter. Escaped as the last surviving heir... the last of her mother's bloodline. After all anyone who had seen anything were bound to her. Their memories were whatever she decided that they would be. Right now she choose for them to believe that a hooded man stormed the castle coming from out of nowhere and slaughtering all that had stood in his way.
Yes that would do nicely. And as for the man... Oh well she had plan for that as well. Myrddin was either going to marry her or every Feyen citizen would believe that he had been behind the massacre. After all there wasn't anyone alive that didn't know how powerful he truly was nor how dangerous.
A smile formed on her face. He was exactly what she needed. A Feyen man with more natural ability and dark power then the whole royal family of Feyen. Or she should say the now dead royal family.
But tomorrow would be soon enough for that... Tonight.... She had to finish this. Sniffling till tears started to run hot down her face she took a deep breath then took off in a terrified sprint down the bloody castle halls. Her ripped gown collecting blood from the fallen guards as she ran. There wasn't anyone alive in this part of the castle or at least not anyone that would be to any use for her plan to work. So screaming for help would do no use at least not until she saw the light coming from the main gate... Then she let out a shrill scream, "HELP! Help Me!"
The guard turned at once toward the sound. It only took a second for him to recognize her as one of the royal family. When he did he ran to her aid. Just as he made it to her she collapsed into his arm sobs running down her face as she gasped for air, "Princess... What..."
Catching her breath she forced out, "A hooded intruder... My mother you have to ..." Clawing at him she tried to push away, "Please you have to help her."
That was all he needed to hear. A bolt of lightning flashed from his finger tpps lighting the signal fire. Not a moment later more than a dozen armed guards stood surrounding them. All their eyes battle ready and scanning for signs of trouble. Yet none moved for a minute waiting for the captain to join them.
A heart beat then two and guard who was holding the sobbing princess took command. "We'll notify the captain later. The royal family is being attacked. The Queen is first priority." Glancing down at the princess he continued, "Princess Larna please come with me. The guard tower will be safe. You have my word."

It's obvious that Ruscsak has created a very detailed and well thought-out world. I always commend any writer with the amazing imagination to create something so expansive. It follows a very common epic fantasy plot though. A young royal learning the truth about her parent's death, eventually coming to terms with the responsibility of becoming ruler by defeating her evil counterpart. It's nothing groundbreaking, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun!
There are a few technical (spelling/grammar) mistakes here and there that should be corrected. This book definitely needs an editor. It's never a good sign when you find a typo on page one. But, the technical errors are something that can be fixed. As long as you have a good story and characters, a solid foundation as it were, the novel can still be enjoyed.
I think Ruscsak has a lot of talent. I think she will definitely continue to produce some interesting fantasy.
A crusade against an ancient evil.
A brotherhood bound by oath.
A victory that will cost everything.
