Excerpt
Most kitchens rest at night. In this one, a guard stood decorating a sandwich. When he bit into his sandwich, it took revenge, decorating his blazer with mustard and tomato juice.
“Shit!” He walked over to a sink and attempted to rinse off the mess. His machine gun leaned against the counter. When he finished fussing with his jacket, he turned around into a seven-inch blade. His grey eyes bugged out, and his mouth expanded into a scream that came out as a gurgle. Blood leaked from his mouth and neck, further wetting his protruding stomach. His eyes rolled into the back of his head as he dropped to the floor in a heap. I shouldered his machine gun and peeked out of the kitchen.
A hall extended to the left and right. The carpet flaunted a linear pattern in green and gold, while the wall displayed paintings of nude women. Two guards leaned against the walls near a large door that ended the hall on the right. They distracted each other with useless chatter, but I still didn’t see an easy way past them. The hall was well-lit and straight-forward.
One man slumped to the floor with my blade filling his eye socket. The other one had enough time to say, “What the-” before I slammed his throat with my fist. He crashed into the door, gasping for air.
The knife left the dead man’s eye and I inserted it into the sternum of the other rasping man. Too much noise, so I traded stealth for speed. The door crashed open as I kicked through it. The machine gun led the way, and I rolled into the room, seeking cover.

A very good story that ended too soon. I'm really excited to find out what happens next. The writer gives us a taste of what to expect next and I can't wait.
A Short Burst Of Vengeance And Fate
ASSASSIN MARKED is a short story that introduces what is sure to be a very interesting world. Damien seeks vengeance, Victoria’s loyalties tear her apart, both have a choice to make that will alter the course of their lives. Do they obey orders? Or do they allow love to sway them and death to chase after? This is the story of an assassin marked.
Although short, it is well-written and perfectly sets up what will no doubt be an exciting and tangled chase. It gives but a taste of this world of assassins, spaceships, the mob, and more. I’m definitely intrigued.
If you’re a fan of science fiction, space travel, or Star Trek with an assassin twist, then you might be interested in reading this. Give it a try and find out how one becomes an assassin marked.

The good guys are bad, romance, sci-fi, super power and futuristic. If you like this stuff, this is for you! It's obviously the first of a series. Get it, read it and if you like it, help me prod the author to continue the story!
Let me first start by saying to me a mire 27 pages seems to be one
"chapter" among many others that would comprise s book. Also, this book is so far from my usual genre. I am not a 'sci-fi" fan at all, however, having said all that, I must admit that "Assassin Marked' is an exceptionally well-written story. It is ripe with detailed description of the scenario at hand and the author pulls the reader in quickly with the story line.
'Assassin Marked' is basically a story about professional loyalty vs love. It is a "sci-fi" love story. The character, Captain Victoria Maruska, must choose between doing her work assignment from her place of employment or the love of her life..........no spoiler alert here!
Michael C. Sahd has a very unique writing style. I enjoyed 'Assassin Marked' and recommend you check it out. As I said earlier, sci-fi is not my genre, but if Michael Sahd releases a follow-up/continuation of 'Assassin Marked', I will definitely read it to see where the story goes.
It's interesting that your book is only 27 pages. I've seen this a lot lately from people who are publishing through Amazon. While that makes for a long short story, from your reviews that are very good, it appears like it may be just some beginning chapter or chapters.
My first novel with my ideas on first contact spanned 6000 years and was only, to my surprise, 65 pages. I serialized it here on AD so that anyone can read it. I'm about to embark on a new novel based on a short story that I posted here that several people suggested that I turn into a novel.
So, based on what I've read here, I would like to read an excerpt that is more than just a paragraph of description, so that I can decide whether or not I'm with those other reviewers when it comes to wanting to see more of your writing. I love science fiction based on science, but am having trouble with some of the comic book fantasy being introduced these days as science fiction.
