The second book of the Pengey has to adapt not only to the climate but the ways of humans and Big City Life.
Where can he go swimming and fishing? Where's the nearest Sushi Bar? What are those things called movies that Wendy likes to watch? Who are all those furry little animals that live in Central Park? Where can a penguin, buy a plaid tie and fedora? What's a Taxi? Can penguins ride on the subway? So much for a little penguin to learn!
Of course, being the curious spirit he is, Pengey soon finds himself embroiled in an adventure of Big City proportions.
A terrible crime has been committed against the poor children at the Tattered Orphanage. Pengey must find the despicable culprits, bring them to justice and return the gifts to the orphaned children who will have no Holiday celebration without his help!
Pengey, his best friend Lionel Macaw, and his new animal friends, set out to find the evildoers behind the theft and bring them to justice! They must succeed no matter what the risk!
entertaining narrative resulting from a positive, unaffected imagination that quickly grasps the mind's eye, holds it tight and does not let go even when the last page of the book has been read.
I am sure children and adults alike will find much to like on the pages of The Further Adventures of Pengey Penguin. I like the Pengey series very much and am convinced teachers and parents will like it as well.
