My roots are my past; but my seeds are my future.
A neighbor (and man I dated briefly after meeting him 4 years ago)was missing for 3 days. I had talked to him about circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a friend. He assured me that he would pay his Cricket bill and provided me contacts of his family. Consequently, I discovered him at one of the 6 hospitals I questioned. He appeared so happy to see me and expressed his gratitude. I took him to Verizon make arrangements for a cell phone after he explained why he didn't want service from Cricket anymore. Knowing that he had come into some money and expecting his financial situation to be better, I explained the conditions in which I would allow him to receive service under my account. Reluctantly I told the sales rep. that I didn't want to do because of all the TV court cases I know are realities of cosigning for someone. I know now I got the "switch and bait" persuasion from the sales rep who assured me that my phone would not be turned off BUT the man's if he didn't pay for his bill.
Quite the contrary, my phone was turned off a month later! I called Mr. Man (anonymous)to only receive voice mail explaining what customer service rep told me. Thank God he called me back and made payment with the rep who had conference us in; however, he insisted that I hang up the phone.
Another month, he did not pay the bill. Finally the third time my phone was suspended; I called and text him. He didnt reply so I had his phone suspended when I went to report this to another Verizon store.
LESSON LEARN:
If you are compassionate about your neighbor or significant other, you will go with your heart and not your mind. I prayed asking God to give me discernment. I believe he did and I did not listen. I often sing Yolando Adam's words of her song, "Open My Heart" and another recording artists' song, "Speak to My Heart".
