First and foremost, I must comment on the "Contents by Category," which really caught my eye. I absolutely loved the category names you selected. They, just like your poems, were thought provoking.
When I first began reading "Poems for a Rainy Day,"I was making notes of the one or ones I considered my favorite, however before I even got into category III, I realized this was going to be an impossible task. Too many were being added to my list and I finally came to the conclusion that I was relieved & glad that part of my reviewing the book did not include picking just one as a favorite. That is a task I would not have been able to complete.
The lyrics that you compose leave the readers being able to envision the writer's state of mind at the time you wrote the words. The descriptive phrases you utilized provide the reader with a wonderful mental picture.
I feel I would be remiss if I didn't mention that throughout the contemplative words you gathered how your sense of humor showed through. I found myself chuckling often.
I really appreciate the works you have penned, Edward, and I thank you for sharing them with all of us.
Being a poet myself and currently working on a compilation of poems written by my mother, whom I lost 4 years ago, you provided me with the inspiration I needed to finish the project. Thank you!

Edward Phillips is a poet, an author and above all, a man who has lived and learned about life. He is a spiritual being, philosopher, a lover, a fighter, a hater of injustice. He is one who has examined life and its purpose and dared to lay bare his conclusions for the world to see. This is a book of exposed thoughts and emotions. It's a book the reader will relate to and treasure. No doubt it's a volume to be read again and again.
