From Chapter XIX, describing the current approach of quantum physicists and the problems with their theories ---Up to now, no one has yet been able to establish an all-encompassing, unified field theory that accounts for the various forces that exist in nature. Scientists have examined the "strong forces" within the nucleus of atoms in an attempt to show that they produce the very weak force of gravity. Strong forces can oppose one another, and some success has been made in getting the addition right, such that the forces add together by the right amount to produce the gravitational force. Just how this process is supposed to occur is not clear. Subatomic particles, gravitons, are believed to be the source of this reaction. However, not a single graviton has ever been detected, even though many investigations have been conducted in search of them.
And in discussing Einstein's theory--- Rather than believing that space and time are truly altered by high speeds and large masses, it appears much more likely that these apparent distortions are an apparition, formed as a result of the limitations of our ability to sense what is actually happening. The limited speed of orbital electrons within atoms and the fixed speed of light, while being extremely fast, limit any measurement method available to us. ---- through the determination of the exact properties of radiation, it may be possible to strwaighten out these aberrations, and obtain a clearer vision of the universe. ---- Space is not truly distorted; it only appears distorted for objects moving at high sppeeds, such as galaxies and the high speed gasses within them. The dimensions themselves do not actually change. And, if space is expanding outwards at a sufficiently high rate (shown to be possible in an earlier chapter), then earth itself may be traveling faster than the speed of light

If we are to hold to the idea that nothing in the universe can travel faster than the speed of light, then either Concept #1 (for a rotating dipole without a distorted field) must be correct, or else the Rutherford model of the atom must be wrong.
And---
For Concept #1, the ray representing the axis of the stationary dipole becomes distorted in the form of a spiral as the dipole rotates. It is observed that the frequency of rotation slows as the distance from the center of rotation is increased. Thus the spiral (representing the wavefront) changes shape with time, winding up as a clock spring.
And---
In order to verify Concept #1, it is necessary to test for frequencies of rotating fields that vary with distance. -----it does not appear likely that such a condition is possible, since frequencies of radiation fo not vary with distance.
