Both stepped around into the blessed light and there the Lady stood before them, looking like a goddess from Peter's deepest passionate dream. He could feel her purity inside him; feel it in her light, as it shone on his face. The Lady's voice now filled him completely, and touched his soul.

"How Godly she sounds," he thought in silence.

Her song was as an ever-flowing river of joy to Peter's ears; his longing for her was boundless, his lust, unchained. As he listened to her song, he admired quietly about the sound of the words emanating from her,and how her every pitch touched and moved his soul. Now in a dreamstate, he fantasized, "How jealous must the spoken word be....even how much more envious the written."

Peter was completely captured by the 'Lady of the Isle' and now wanted no escape. Never could he have imagined he could feel this way about anyone. Everything about her was drawing him; her voice, her radiance, the brilliance of her hair lying against her angelic face.

"So pleasing," he whispered softly while his knees weakened slightly. "Such a beautiful face."

A deep, down in the soul yearning had enveloped Peter; one that could drive a man to the ends of the earth to seek out and find the Lady of the Isle before him, or drive a man crazy trying. He felt as though heaven itself was standing before him; as if heaven could be captured in a physical body, and live. He suddenly snapped out of the mesmerizing, dream-like trance of her radiance, by a firm ------- but not too hard, smack on the cheek by another lady he adored as well. Susan was feeling the pangs of jealousy within her, and she didn't like it; she didn't like it at all.

"You'd better look at me Peter," she began demanding with deliberation. "I've been calling you for five minutes and you didn't even hear me. We came here to ask her something, not so you can get all 'googly-eyed', and act like a schoolboy with a crush."

"Yeah, you're right," Peter managed to say while never taking his eyes off the Lady.

"Well ask her then," Susan shouted; "So we can go."

"Oookay," he answered.

Peter stepped up to her with ecstasy and hormones abounding, and then he noticed them. Just behind her were beautiful silken wings draped just below her shoulders. So happy he felt, that a true 'Angel of Heaven' was standing before him. How privileged he felt to be before her and witness something so close to the purity of God.

"Can all of heaven be this way?" he wondered. "So much splendor and joy must be within its gates, and so much happiness." When he stopped before her, the angel became silent and looked at Peter. Looking back into her light of her eyes, he could feel her innocence, and the joy of ages all about her. He felt barely able to think straight with the absolute joy inside him at that given moment, but asked, "Please, may I ask a question?"

"You may ask once," she replied pleasingly as her voice reverberated between the walls of her stone prison.

"How do we defeat the Gruff so we can get next to the 'tree of wishes'?"

The She Angel turned her head slightly away for a moment, tand then back toward Peter.

"You must capture one of the creatures from that place of the damned, and have the Demon consume it; for inside the creature is the darkness of death, and all are vulnerable to it's spirit. Be aware Peter, the Demon won't be fooled easily."

After saying that, She began to sing again and Susan walked up to take Peter by the hand. As he turned to go, he glanced over to the side of where the Lady was standing, and there he saw the stone figures of two men lying frozen in time. Upon their faces were still painted the smiles of joyous expectations, of living life eternal with the angel of song, but never to awaken again.

"Such is the fate of the impure of heart," Peter reflected.

Susan led Peter away back through the meadow, stopping on the way long enough to take him by the arms and look deeply into his far away eyes.

"I love you Peter. You are the love I've always waited for. Don't you ever forget that."

"I know that Susan, and I never forget. You know I love you too.....always. There will never be another woman in my life. My heart is yours completely, and forever."
