This creation of this book was purely by chance. A group of my co-workers were discussing Christmas and why decorations, trees, and other customs are practiced. Have you ever wondered the same? One question was regarding the Christmas tree. Where did the idea originate? Who might be responsible for the tradition? Was a person responsible for the tree or was it a cultural phenomena that grew. All these thoughts and questions caused me to conduct a little research.
This book is written for and dedicated to all the children worldwide who have never had the pleasure or opportunity to enjoy a Christmas celebration.
Christmas traditionally is supposed to be about faith, family, love, food, gifts, and should be, in general, a fun time. This book has been written to honor children everywhere. I am going to donate the majority of the money earned from every book sold, to reputable organizations that help needy children.
Think back to your first memory of Christmas. Most likely, it probably includes a memory of a decorated and brightly lit tree. A smile can always be seen on even the most selfish and bitter person when viewing a well designed Christmas tree.
Throughout history, trees have played an important part in many winter religious celebrations. For many centuries, many pagan festivals and celebrations utilized trees when honoring their gods and spirits. The Vikings considered the evergreen to be a powerful symbol. The evergreen was a reminder to the Vikings that the darkness and cold of the winter season would eventually end. The Ancient Druids of England, France, and Ireland decorated oak trees with fruit and candles to honor their gods of the harvest. At the festival “Saturnalia” the Romans decorated trees with trinkets and candles. There have been many legends surrounding the use of the Christmas tree.
In this book, I hope to educate the reader about the trees of Pre-Christianity History, Christianity History, the Evolution of the tree, and review the most common types of trees used at Christmas. I will also discuss real vs. fake Christmas trees, the care of a real tree, and general household Christmas tree safety.

As a young adult, I remember my father once saying, “Children are the true innocents of the world”. Looking back at my life, I realize that my father had hardly been ever wrong. He loved being around children. He told me that hate, fear, aggression, and lying were all learned behaviors by children from their dealings with adults.
