To the teenagers in Buran, it is holiday fun,but to some adult farmers and land owners, it is fun gone too far. Boundaries are broken, lines are crossed and unfortunately an American Catholic priest is viciously murdered on New Year’s Eve.

The authorities are weak to act. A few farmers take matters into their hands. The approach they use is down right unorthodox, primitive and unconventional. Anger, mysticism, black magic, witchcraft and superstition combine with deadly force. The atmosphere becomes tense. Fear grips Buran and young lives are lost…

Action packed and down right humorous, Journalist; Larry Bate Takang’s “A Place of Fun and Evil”, is a smooth mixture of tragedy and comedy in a superb narration of events where the love for adventure and fun exposes Buran’s teenage holiday makers to the strangest and most absurd encounters with the “forces of evil”. When Witches and Wizards come into play, the consequences are bizarre and deadly. In “A Place of fun and Evil”, you learn how far some people would go to avenge little deeds by children. It also gives you enough to laugh over.

Excerpt

Excerpt:

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!!! He screamed suddenly, feeling the sharp pain left by the swift bite of the very venomous snake. He looked down to find out what had caused him so much pain. There, behold, was the wicked killer wriggling its body as it slid into the undergrowth. His friend Tawe, had just had time enough to catch a glimpse of the cobra as it disappeared into the undergrowth. The sight and size of it was too much for him to bear. His legs trembled and suddenly a flow of uncontrollable urine dampened his school pants. Unaware of the actual position of the snake, he jumped around ignorant of what to do next. His dearest friend was in severe pain and fainting fast. He was too frightened, confused and inexperienced to know what to do. In fact too confused to the extend that he abandoned his friend without a word and started running like hell towards their school campus, screaming as if being chased by a ghost".
