This book is one that has to be treated in a completely different way than the usual stuff that is discussed inside this column. The author shared her innermost feelings and respect for John Lennon in this book, which is subtitled (sic) Letters from a Fan in NY City, and invites you to do the same. For this reason all left pages are empty so you can write down your own thoughts about the subject discussed on the right-hand page. It is, in effect, a very interactive book. Furedi's writings, letters and poetry overwhelmed me with similar feelings and thoughts. In chronological order John's life is taken a poetic flight in time, combined with touchy feelings and well chosen words. The author describes it in her forward as a loving tribute and that's exactly what it is. An extra dimension is given to the book by photos that she has taken of the area and from the Dakota building and the park on the other side of the road. (She is very privileged in that matter, while she lives pretty close to the Dakota and Central Park).
