This book series is based on the true story of an adorable Italian Greyhound, who had a "ruff" life until Diane Dike, a courageous woman handicapped by a rare and incurable disease, adopted her. Gracie was hospitalized for some terrible injuries when left alone by her previous owner. Homeless, she waited for a special someone to take her home. Meanwhile, Diane was suffering with a frightful disease that daily stole the quality of her life. Diane prayed for help, and God sent Gracie.
Diane felt immediately connected to Gracie and determined she would be there for the little dog as she recovered. In turn, Gracie's unconditional love and devotion for Diane allowed her to develop into the first rescued Italian Greyhound service dog in America. Diane rescued Gracie and Gracie rescued Diane right back. With Gracie's help, Diane can more fully and safely participate in the world around her. Against all odds they em-"bark" on many adventures while sharing their life together.
