In John Boekenoogen’s first novel Farewell to Innocence, a young man’s life is radically altered when he learns that what seems like an ordinary life is far from ordinary. Following a car accident this history teacher learns that he is actually a reincarnated Prime Minister who was stricken down by a wicked, power hungry man.
Combining hard core science fiction with legends of Native American folk lore, the
author has created a story that is adventurous and full of excitement. The way this author merges modern day situations with that of inter-galactic mystery is reminiscent of the writings of noted science fiction author Ray Bradbury.

This is a great book. It's full of adventure and mystery at every turn of the page. I loved how the author told the story of several different characters and gradually began to reveal how all their lives were intertwined. What I like about the main character Talen Dirk is that he is a normal guy whose life was turned completely upside down but he handled it with stride. This is a fun and interesting book and I look forward to reading future novels by this author. I give it 5 stars.

I am not a true fan of science fiction, but I throughly enjoyed this book. I found the characters to be very believable and was able to follow the story line without having to constantly remind myself that this was a science fiction book.
