Before him stood a three-foot tall ball of fuzz with elfish pointed ears, a huge bulbous nose, a small bald patch across the top of his head, and squinting eyes sunk into a mass of wrinkles. Obviously he was human; an older midget of a man with a head-to-toe beard that connected to big bushy eyebrows, accentuated by a fringe of gray hair around the back of his head. But what truly astounded Tory was the blue-spotted alligator tail that sprouted from the back of the man's patchwork robe. Tory's jaw dropped in awe.
"Look, boy. I'm not going to stand here all day so you can ogle me. You've got blood dripping all over my land, and your face looks like a troll sat on it. Close your mouth before you swallow something you shouldn't, and follow me." The little man shambled into the woods.

From the very first page, readers will be much more than hooked on Siggi's Trolls: they will be sucked into this fascinating world of fantasy and intrigue with no hope (or desire!) of returning until the very last page! Tory doesn't believe in trolls, isn't even sure what they are. However, as he and Mandy journey beyond the every day world of snow and ice in the cold of Iceland, fantasy becomes fact as a friend disappears after complaining of something in the trash dumpster, something that moans and hisses... If only someone would have listened! From disappearing babies to wickedly detailed monsters of unthinkable evil, the threat becomes more real with each passing day until the final battle of faerie and human comes to a screaming climax.
Regardless of age, the child in all of us becomes united with Tory and Mandy as they battle the sour forces of the baby-stealing trolls, while growing together in friendship and trust.
