The roller coaster ride began. He was without oxygen for eight minutes.An ambulance took him to the nearest hospital, which then transported him by helicopter to a specialized heart unit. His condition mandated he be on life support.

'If I ever wanted to make peace, the time had come. I methodically proceeded to pack bags of necessities for a few days, unsure of what I would find. My stomach was in knots, my head spinning with so many unanswered questions. I had to see for myself. With a full range of emotions and very little information, I did the only thing I knew to do. I went home to say goodbye to my daddy.'
