Zany Holiday Marketing Ideas for March

March 3 is National Anthem Day. This is the day that President Hoover signed a bill making the Star Spangled Banner our national anthem. Celebrate by singing as much as you can remember with some friends and clients.

We all love ice cream. Why not hold an ice-cream social on National Frozen Food Day, March 6. Combine this with World Day of Prayer on the same date and you have the makings of a Church Social that you have an excuse to send press releases and post posters about town to promote your event.

The seventh being Read Across America Day should be high on your list if you are a writer, book retailer or any form of business that deals with children. At the very least, you could have a Story Hour or you could go all out and get together a group to visit a daycare, hospital or nursing home and read to patients. They will be comforted by your attention and you will be a better person for doing it.

Employee Appreciation Day on the ninth is one that no business owner who has employees should forget. If you have a small company, you might take all the employees out to lunch. If not, why not throw a potluck? While you’re at it you could have a “Roast” or let the employees toast YOU with a “Roast” of their own. Or how about the week before having your employees vote for “Best Dressed,” “Most Helpful,” “Funniest” etc. and award appropriate gag prizes.

Here’s a holiday every beading enthusiast, jewelry or craft store, and woman will sit up and take notice of, Jewelry Lovers Day on the thirteenth. Don’t forget to send out those all important press releases.

Incredible Kid Day on the fifteenth is a great opportunity to market your child focused business. Even a bookstore or children’s book author might steer the celebration to enhance their marketing efforts. You might collect Incredible Kid stories and post them around your shop. Don’t have a storefront? Post them on your website for the world to see. You can offer a prize for the one voted the best by passer byes or not. Don’t forget to let the local media know how you are celebrating this unique holiday.

Everybody is Irish on Saint Patrick’s Day. This holiday is celebrated on March 17. Put on your Irish and celebrate with a Green Sale. Offer all merchandise that has green in/on it or all green-tagged items at a discounted rate.

The 2009 Weird and Wacky Holiday Market Guide, by Ginger Carter-Marks New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, whatever day all year long...this book is chock full of zany fun ideas and resources that have you covered in the new year with great new ideas to implement. Training thousands of international clients for many years, I find the tongue twisters especially important and useful to my clients for accent reduction. I love the Presentation Skills Day, and will use that with them as well. I am tuned into Global Training Summit Day, and will put it in my e-zine. "Jar of Nothing" is tops for me; haven't you heard people say over the years "don't get me anything for the holidays, or birthdays." I love that jar idea, and can hardly wait to use it. I especially like the Excuse Slip. As a Californian it tickled me to use the "My Horoscope Excuse" idea. Thank you Ginger for supporting us with your creative marketing ideas guide! A must get as gifts book resonates humor on a global scale with fresh innovative ideas for marketing, and my business life just got easier. Get on board this New Year with new ways of doing business in the global shift. Nancy K. Matson ACE Confident Communicator Workshops™ http://www.acemyenglish.com

The 2009 Weird & Wacky Holiday Marketing Guide is an amazing resource . . . and a fantastically amusing book! As a professional writer and copywriter, someone who has to not only write books but also act as a proactive salesperson in the bargain, I cannot recommend a better tool to have at my fingertips. The author, Ginger Carter-Marks, has removed the strain on my brain, which used to accompany efforts to find yet another special occasion and new reason to support my promotional efforts. All I have to do now is open Ginger's book and select another good idea upon which to build my sales. How great is that?!

Thank you, Ginger, for yet another brilliant idea. The 2009 Weird & Wacky Holiday Marketing Guide is a well-written, topnotch resource . . . and a humorous, entertaining read in the bargain! Fun AND utility—what more could anyone want?!
