Lost and Found is the follow up to my first book of poetry Poems from my Purple Notebook. My first book I wrote while I was in high school, this book picks up where the last one left off, college. I titled this book Lost and Found because I would write on many random pieces of paper and notebook pages. After a while I lost track of some and forgot about them and where I put them. Then while in the process of moving I found the book that I tucked them away in. What I thought I had lost was now found.

Shadows of the Burning Sun
Just stand there and watch
As I walk away into the shadows of the burning sun
You wonder if I will ever return
I don’t know when or if I will be back
But as you said goodbye
I looked back for a brief second
Only to see you shed a tear and cry
Because you don’t know
That my love for you will last eternally
Although I may not
And that it will never fade away
Like the shadows of the burning sun
So farewell, be strong
For it may be a long time
Before I can ever be next to you again
But the pictures I hold of you in my mind
Will never fade away like the shadows of the burning sun
