Williams area resident Molly Harris said she did not ask for the direction her life was to take in recent years, following the death of her husband Russ. She said the shock of her husband's death began what she called her "spiritual path." Harris began to read everything she could find on afterlife and religion, physics and more. In seeking her answers, she said she came across an amazing discovery.
"I stumbled onto something that, in my opinion, has been here all along, and it opened me up spiritually," Harris said.
Her discovery is chronicled in her new book, "Be Grateful For The Shade," which Harris said details her life with Russ Harris, both before and following his death. Harris recently shared her experiences to members of the Williams Rotary Club during their regular meeting. She asked that people keep an open mind when reading the book. "Be Grateful for the Shade is a true love story reaching into Heaven." Harris said. "I have been blessed to have found true love in my husband, Russ. We were immersed in our life here. We were living the fairy tale life. We were best friends, soul mates, been around each other 24*7, worked together, played together and then in August of 2003 my husband was diagnosed with cancer. After battling cancer for about a year and a half, my husband left this world. I was stricken with extreme grief, because he was my best friend and it shocked my entire being, to the core of my being."
That changed one evening as Harris took pictures from her barn.
" I was taking pictures of the full moon coming over the mountain like my husband and I used to watch when he was here, out on our property." Harris said. "I started getting these sphere like objects in the pictures."
Harris said she went on to take thousands of photos in and around the area of her barn and continued to capture the mysterious objects. The experience, Harris said, taught her that there is more to life than what can be seen.
"We don't want to say good-bye to our loved ones. Our loved ones have really not gone anywhere. They continue in another dimension, world, other than this," Harris said. "There is no death. We continue forever and the spirit world is closer than we imagined. My journey with my husband has propelled me out of darkness."
A number of her photographs can be found in her book, though Harris said the sphere like objects in the pictures are not "ghosts."
"This is spirit energy," Harris said. "They're not exactly orbs. Orbs can be dust, orbs can be moisture. Orbs can be a lot of things."
"The key to understanding the objects," Harris said, "is to have an understanding of love."
"The most important thing I have learned throughout this entire journey, and in writing my book and going through all of that, is that the only thing that we take with us is love and that's our true destiny in being in the physical. With everything that has happened to me over the last five years that is one thing that I have definitely learned. It's opened me up spiritually, closer to God, closer to knowing who and what God is and why we are here."
"I used to be in racing and I never thought the good Lord would put me on this journey, but he has for a reason and I hope it's to enlighten people," Harris said. "Has this taken me away from God? No, it's brought me 10 times closer than I could ever have imagined. This is all new to me, I did not initially seek this out. This sought me out t help educate people about life after death. We don't have to let go of our loved ones."
