The horses passed by silently
Carrying the halt and lame
As I watched the cavalcade
It clearly had been no game
On their faces anger showed
In lines the pain was etched
To the fields of healing
They had all been fetched
'Where have you come from?
I asked from hour to hour'
Always the same answer
'Where evil released its power
Our bodies were so injured
We are amongst the dead
Satan feasted on them, but
On our souls he has not fed
We escaped, by death released
Then to this place were brought
Our wingéd steeds met us
We knew not for this we fought
We tried to do what we could

Tried not to be hypocritical
But sadly were made to fall'
'Look, see this wondrous place
Light, airy, safe and warm'
'We are told our pain can heal
And we are safe from harm'
'What message can I send?
To those who cannot know'
'Be kind, use your life well
No friendship to Satan show
You may suffer, but better still
To die than hurt another
If all followed that simple task
The world would be our brother
Gone rape and wars and carnage
Gone famine and cruel fight
This place would then welcome
Everyone to its welcome light'
