It is a story of a baby born in a shantytown deep in the woods of Minnesota. In an environment where human emotions were nonexistent, he was easy prey for the wiles of the devil. As a demon child he could use his powers to inflict, suffering, pain and death on those he perceived to be a danger to him. He had no conscience, pride, love or compassion. He was evil incarnate, the ordained emissary of the Devil himself.

Stepping out of the confessional, I opened her door and asked Sylvia to follow me. As we left the church and went down onto the street, a stray dog ran by. I told her to do something bad to the dog.  I wanted to prove to her that she had no special powers and that she was not responsible for the cat.  She took a few steps toward the dog and it suddenly turned on her growling and showing all its teeth.  The dog tried to advance but was unable to move.  It was like his paws were glued to the pavement. It was trying frantically to free its self, when out of nowhere a swarm of black flies appeared. They attacked the dog unmercifully, inflicting stinging bites along its head, neck, and back. The pain from the bites put the dog in such agony that he started chewing on his own legs trying to get free.

Judge’s commentary:
What did you like best about this book?
The cover was perfect for the story inside. The
Novel has a wonderfully scary premise with a
most evil protagonist. Certainly the story is imaginative and clever—actually downright
spooky and unnerving. The characters were interesting and all faced a horrifying dilemma. The dialogue moved the plot along and revealed
character. Horror lovers should read this book

In the End: Apocalyptic Poetry by Debra Kraft

In the end they'll all be dancin'--all them ones that didn't die.... Dance with me in the shadows amidst the lightning and the thunder, and all that nu-cu-lar debris. See the big bang from the other side, and then open that cellar door. Go down into

Inherent Chaos by Terry Vinson

The fortunate inherit riches, prestige, positive notoriety. Those not so lucky bear legacies filled with poverty, infamy or, worse yet, the unhinged insanity and murderous urges of their ancestors.
