This story is about Patrick, the farmers son who raises his pet chicken in his room. Miss Chickie has an adventure coping with Patricks messy room.
When Miss Chickie hatches and is lost from her mama, Farmer Duane gives her to his son to raise and use for a science project. The problem is, he is keeping her in his messy room. She is a white crested black polish breed and cannot see for the feathers that cover her eyes. As she becomes of age to begin nesting and laying her eggs, she is confused and begins her search for a propper nest. Patricks shoes are her choice. She has quite an adventure moving around his messy, messy room with all the feathers hanging over her eyes.

One morning Miss Chickie watched as Patrick got ready for school. He was in a big hurry because he didn't hear the sound of his alarm clock. Miss Chickie was the one that woke him up. He jumped out of bed, combed his hair, and brushed his teeth as fast as he could. He put on his clothes and his socks and then he quickly shoved his feet into his shoes and all of a sudden,there was a very slimy mess all over his foot. He picked up his shoe and looked inside. There was an egg in his shoe.
