In Project Genesis, astronaut Mack Jones takes a team of three scientists to a space station to ride out a catastrophic war that could wipe out the human race. Their mission, if necessary, is to repopulate Earth using human gametes and artificial wombs. One of the scientists goes psychotic and wants to create a super race.
The Soul Hunters is about Private Investigator Mark Rollins, who is killed and goes to "the other side." He is neither in Heaven nor Hell, but is still on Earth as an Earthbound spirit. He meets others like himself, even the spirit of an old girlfriend. He learns that even the spirits are not safe here, for they must beware of The Hunters, vampire-like creatures that are forever prowling and seeking Earthbound spirits.
Contains three stories:
"The Magical Earth" is about an inventor and karate expert, Jason Devlin, who invents a teleporter. The machine has a malfunction and sends him and his nephew/assistant, Stu, into an alternate universe. They find themselves in a 12th century Earth where magic is real.
A beautiful sorceress thinks Jason has come to rescue her people from the pending invasion of a horde of barbarians led by a powerful, evil wizard.
Jason and Stu must use their knowledge of science and karate skills to survive in a world of magic.
"Project Genesis" is a post apocalyptic tale. All the world is at war, with all sides using nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. When it appears that there is a possibility that Earth's population might be wiped out, Mack Jones, astronaut, and a team of three scientists are sent to ride out the war in a space station.
Their mission is to repopulate Earth if necessary. Their payload includes frozen human gametes and newly developed synthetic wombs. They return to Earth to search for survivors and to start their project.
One of the scientists demands to use their equipment to start a super race. When the others don't go along, he goes beserk and killa another member. Mack and biologist Donna Larson struggle to survive and to save the project.
"The Soul Hunters" is about Mark Rollins, a private investigator who is killed and finds himself on the "other side." The other side is like nothing he has ever heard of or dreamed about. To his surprise, there are dangers to deal with. He and other Earthbound spirits must always be on the lookout for and avoid the Soul Hunters, who feed on the souls of Mark and his kind.

From "The Magical Earth"
The Mung warriors were as confounded by Jason's karate style of fighting as were the barbarous bandits. None of the warriors could match his speed and skill--until he faced a Mung clad in brown. The Mung Mage proved to be his equal and more.
Jason noted that the man's stripes and disc were gold, which showed him to be a top level sorcerer, but he also noted a small red heart on the man's upper left breast. He remembered that Rohan had once told him that the Mung awarded this insignia to those who excelled in spelled swordsmanship.
In spite of his superb physical condition, Jason was beginning to tire, but it was obvious that the Mage was tiring as well. The Mage, too, was confounded by Jason's style of fighting, but the Mage's skillful use of his spelled sword more than made up for Jason's unorthodox tactics. The Mage had him on the defensive. Jason was hard pressed to block and parry the slashing sword of the Mage; when he dodged, the Mage was moving with him.
He'd had it so easy with the bandits and Mung warriors that he'd grown lax--his enhanced reflexes had grown dull. Now he had an opponent who was not only a master swordsman, but was also a master with spelled sword. He must dig deep and find the will to sharpen those reflexes--if it was not too late.
He could not allow the Mage to keep him on the defensive; he must go on the attack. Abruptly he changed his tactics from defensive to offensive. He shifted into an offensive stance. He faked a thrust, and as the Mung was set to parry, he exhaled sharply and yelled as he jumped and kicked. The surprised Mage dodged, but not quick enough. The Mage caught a glancing blow that sent him down.
But the Mage rolled and was up immediately. His sword was a blur as he thrust it with lightning quickness toward Jason's chest. Jason, his enhanced reflexes now restored, quickly sidestepped while thrusting his own sword toward the Mage's chest. Suddenly Jason felt a hot stab and felt warm liquid wetting the right side of his chest. He saw his sword pierce the Mage's chest; it was the last thing he saw before blacking out.
