This is a long short story set at the Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok. Volunteers have assembled to field phone calls from ex-pats away from home and feeling depressed during the Christmas season. Humor and pathos mingle together with a cast of interesting characters. McFinn's trademark dialogue percolates.
