Beatrix dives right in with the birth of Gobbles in this thought provoking children's tale of an adorable little turkey and his mission.
Each illustration depicts the unique facets of this little turkey's warmhearted character and charming personality. Page by page, his adorable expressions captivate the reader while the storyline inspires steadfast belief in this little turkey's courage and his death-defying creative solution.
Far too often (and much to my dismay), children's books spell out everything leaving nothing for the child to imagine or interpret. This author brilliantly leaves parts of the story open to interpretation by its lucky reader. When paired with thought-provoking questions, this will help develop a child's critical thinking skills and encourage creative interpretation.

Beatrix S. Taubunan is an excellent children's author and illustrator.
I just love the simplicity of her writing on paper, yet the plot is so intense, meaningful and carries such a strong message for children.
The illustrations are outstanding, colorful and mesh very well with the plot. I can just see myself right there in Gobble's world, so the children will too.
Children will love this story and feel Gobble's heart as he deliberately finds a way to remain alive and well. This time, the humans were outsmarted.
What a beautiful story for this time of year - Thanksgiving.
