Five Stars! Dog Water Free - Touched me deeply. Life is a journey and you never know what is around the corner, but all experiences lead to growth and to truth. I was touched by the love and strength of a young mother to ensure the safety and well-being of her children through incredible circumstances. How a young man whose experiences made him face life challenges way beyond his years and the incredible triumph and redemption that is only achieved when life is well-lived! Gifts come in strange packages and this story is about just that - beautiful gifts! Beautiful life!
Poignant, Lovely and Brave Writing
Five Stars! It's never easy to write about yourself. Often, the effort is fraught with self-aggrandizement and filled with unnecessary bits of information no one really wants to read.
Not this book. What a story and what an extraordinary journey Michael Jay has undertaken.
Not every scene will personally resonate. (I can't imagine losing both parents at such a young age). But taken as a whole, "Dog Water Free" is a triumphant narrative of curiosity, determination luck and love. Savor it.
Great Story!
Five Stars! You do not have to be from Detroit to love this book and fall in love with Mikee as a child. It is not an easy task for an author to gain the readers caring and respect for a character. Michael Jay is so adept in engaging his readers with his protagonist that I fought sleep to continue reading this wonderful book. I was sad to finish it. It is always hard to pick up a new book and start reading right away when you finish one like, "Dog Water Free". I think I'll just sit here a bit and wait until I'm ready.
