Across Cane River is a captivating story about two people who inherited a vast amount of property in Louisiana. The catch is, they have to occupy the property for one year to obtain a clear title. The sparks fly! Jacques isn't even sure he wants the inheritance if it means leaving L. A. and Simone hates the mud hole, and prefers Chicago.
This novel touches on miscegenation, relationships between brothers and sisters, fathers and sons regardless of who the mother was. Moral values are tested and the characters have to make some tough decisions.The basis of this story comes from true stories circulated throughout many families whose roots are deep along the Cane.
You seem to be able to touch the inner core of behavioural patterns of individuals, relationships and the family at the base of it all, It must be making interesting reading, I will try to get a copy soon.
