The first in the Writing is a Process series of eight children's picture books. This edition introduces and gives a brief overview of the writing process.

Writing is a Process is the first in the series of eight children's picture book. This first book provides readers with a brief overview of what a writing process is and introduces them, through illustrations, to the characters they will meet in the remaining seven books.

While this series is a fantastic tool for any parent or teacher who is trying to teach children to write stories, it is especially useful for teaching the special populations (learning challenged, language challenged, etc.) because it provides excellent visual support and is written in lyrical rhyme which helps capture and keep the student's attention.

Excerpt

Once when I was little
I wanted to learn to write.
I’d use up all my crayons
as I scribbled with all my might.

Then I learned to use a pencil;
the alphabet became my friend.
When I put those letters together,
my imagination had no end.

Soon I was forming sentences,
writing what I thought,
using different colors with
the pens my mom had bought.
