Set in 1979 and early 1980, this Texas-flavored drama unfolds amidst a small-town backdrop of parties by the lake, drug deals and everyday life. In short, it’s the story of Jayden and Lula. Neither have fame or wealth when they start out, but they do have two things in common…both struggle with a sense of self worth…and, both have more fun than most people. He has a razor-sharp wit and strong pitching arm, and she is a highly creative abstract artist. Together they discover the meaning of love and loss, while they work toward their shared goal of not being ordinary.

He was a ballplayer.
And everybody knows ballplayers are a determined lot. Never giving up. Never admitting defeat. Playing when they are hurt. Getting back up when they’re down.
So it was no surprise when Jayden saw his old glove sitting in a box in his parent’s garage that he immediately took it as a sign things were going to be better. It wasn’t the same glove he had used at the Cocky Crow the night Phil was beaten. This was the first real glove he had gotten from his Dad when he started playing baseball.
It was butter-soft and it still fit his hand perfectly. He thought he had lost it. Left it on some playing field long ago. Or, loaned it out to a buddy who forgot to return it on purpose because it felt so perfect.
