Her hesitant hand rested on the phone book as she contemplated a call to someone who once had a crush on her. She felt the tears in her eyes burning, ready to spill at any time. The pain of anxiety and embarrassment of coming face to face with not just anyone, but someone who once meant a lot to her. A long lost love who once thought her so beautiful. The damaged side of her face made it difficult to face anyone who she’d once known, but she needed her car fixed. With little funds to do it, she had to call upon people who she trusted. Her hand shook as she ran her finger down the list of mechanics in the area.
