We’ve all been there at one time or another. Possibly we are rejected or perhaps we are the rejecter. Some handle it quite well; others not so grandiosely. Most of us wish we had handled it better; others refuse to handle it at all. Regardless of the circumstances rejection just plain traumatizes its victim—especially where matters of the heart are concerned.
Rejection (The Art of) Prologue
Rejection—the refusal, spurning, dismissal or elimination—the act of rejecting or the state of being rejected—yep that’s Carrie!
Today is what she considers a bad hair day, so she prefers the more gruesome version or ghastly definition—the failure of a recipient’s body to accept a transplanted tissue or organ as the result of immunological incompatibility; immunological resistance to foreign tissue. Either way the implication alone can sting like a scorpion.
We’ve all been there at one time or another. Possibly we are rejected or perhaps we are the rejecter. Some handle it quite well; others not so grandiosely. Most of us wish we had handled it better; others refuse to handle it at all.Sometimes rejection occurs at an inauspicious time; then from time-to-time precisely when it’s an eventuality or anticipated. Regardless of the circumstances rejection whether personal or impersonal, emotional or inexpressive, cerebral or irrational, intellectual orillogical—rejection just plain traumatizes its victim.
Carrie happens to lean toward the “spurning” description in particular. After all who hasn’t been rejected with disdain or despised? Better still kicked or trampled on every now and then? Through the precarious adventurous and cathartic journey I realize that rejection has various degrees of intensity.
We can be totally unaware of the types of rejection that occurs in life. The individual outcomes are a compilation of intricate strings that blend and weave a pattern or blueprint—some are cohesive others concise, yet a number disjointed or traumatizing, especially where matters of the heart are concerned.
For instance the most important aspects of structural plans are the detailed specifications to incorporate into one’s blueprint for life. The characteristics of non-structural plans can be an illusional fantasy or fairy tale—more difficult to attain or realize. Regardless it’s of utmost importance to embrace and embellish—accept or ultimately reject any plan.
As a Grande Dame of Design Carrie has woven decades of experience (success and failure) charted and eloquently documented through the written word. Expression through writing is her salvation, articulated with tinges of humor, sarcasm, extremely descriptive, emotionally charged, acknowledgeable then penned with honesty. Perhaps you have immensely
enjoyed—conversely have been potentially repelled by certain aspects of my continued journey to find a lasting love relationship.
She would like to believe that what she now writes or has written or published in the past, has enlightened—inspired—or is something that even one single person has been able to relate to. Her wish is that the words or situations, perhaps some of the experiences of this uncertain and arduous voyage have entertained—maybe brought a smile to someone’s face.
Possibly something shared has made you shed a tear; conceivably was thought provoking. Perchance there was a lesson learned, a suggestion made or advice given from which you’ve been able to glean something noteworthy. After all—this is one of the reasons we read books and novels, isn’t it?
Carrie is a larger than life kinda gal. It’s been a rewarding liberating passage, and she’s proud of the woman she’s become. Maybe this all resonates simply from feeling like a Mensa member on the Art of Rejection.
