The final book in the Dark Angel trilogy. The worst parts of Revelations appear to be coming to fruition for the demons.
London’s burning. As demons hunt down those few inhabitants caught within the flaming borders of the city, the angels and their dark cousins gather across the river. Even the suburbs are quiet as the military attempt an enforced evacuation.
Caught within the Hell of the city, the priests and police who survived the battle at the palace work on a way to evade the stalking demons and attempt to flee through the fires.
Jade, the instigator of the mayhem has become a plaything of Lucifer and even Mastema feels his activities curtailed by the presence of the devil.
To release Hell’s grip on London there are tasks that must be accomplished. With the angels unable to cross into Hell, it falls to the dark angels and humanity to seek a resolution. The agreed plan hinges on Rachael and Anthony; the youth must accompany the dark angel into the deepest realm of Hell and into the throne room of Lucifer himself.

Lucifer was sat on his improvised throne as the remaining living prisoners were brought before him. The Speaker's seat of the House was not ideal for his natural form but he wanted to impress on the gathered remnants of humanity who they stood before. The devil was rarely surprised by events and even then, he was all but indifferent to the matters of man. Boredom was the daily torment of the supernatural being and the respite brought by these mock court proceedings were but a distraction.
For the greater part of an aeon the devil had been his own master and his immortal existence had become staid. Lucifer had no respite from the tedium of his being, sleep did not exist for him. The distraction of the fate of mortals was a small task but he exulted in the moment. He could have dealt with those before him as a collective but the opportunity to play with the gathered humans as individuals was too good an opportunity for mischief to ignore.
