Is it her bought breasts caged in red and mustard uniform? Is it the sweat mingling with grease in the air settling on her skin?
No. I know what it is. It’s her smile. A smile that began as defiance when she started the job, a temporary part-time gig while she was between goals, and ended as acceptance when it became a permanent forty-hour workweek. I think Mandy lived rough and never frowned. I think that’s what I love.
