The snow was almost blinding as I stood looking out the window. I wondered why I had ever decided to move to Wyoming. I was a southern girl from Texas and couldn’t believe I was crazy enough to move so far north after my nasty divorce. I just had to get away from Austin. The divorce was painful with Jake cheating with my cousin. It was time to start a new life for me. Why in the hell did I throw a red dart at a map on the wall and end up in Bear’s Den Wyoming?
That’s where the dart hit and I said to myself “Caren Sanders, it’s time to spread your wings and see what fate has to offer you.” I had gotten a very well deserved settlement in the divorce. Jake is an executive in an oil company so he made a lot of money. He also didn’t want to have a scandal so he was very agreeable to a very large lump sum payment and then large monthly payments for the next 10 years or until I re-married.
