“I imagine you’re writing about the murders. I suppose that would be interesting to someone like you. So, do you have an ending for your story? Does the heroine die?”
Eve’s pulse quickened. She was not the type to be easily scared, but these words terrified her more than she wanted to admit. I know damn well she’s not talking about my story. Could this crazy woman be threatening me? She leaned back, a vain attempt to put some distance between her and this weird woman and her mocking attitude. Alice Crain is the strangest person I’ve ever met. Eve pulled herself together, took a deep breath, and did her best to sound authoritative. “No, the heroine doesn’t die.”

Book Review of "Murder, Black Shadow Book 1"...
One house, separated by almost two decades. Four years later, Eve Collins arrives as Shadylake, completely oblivious to the house's sinister past. In the first book of Linda Guyan's Black Shadow series, the focus is on MURDER.
The first third of the book details the past events involving Shadylake before shifting to present day and Eve. With three unsolved mysteries, Eve finds herself eager to get more details. There's a heavy layer of suspense as the story unfolds, especially with Eve resembling one of the dead women.
The storyline moves forward at a fairly rapid pace once it reaches the present day. Interspersed throughout are glimpses into the killer's mind, but it is uncertain exactly who is doing the reflecting. While some of the plot twists are fairly predictable, the author added a completely unexpected twist regarding the Shadylake Slasher, causing the reader to wonder what is reality and what is fiction.
