I wrote this book because the age of freelancing is here, and there are many skilled people like you who are interested in getting into the game. If you are not immersed in this industry, I know how easy it is to get confused by the seemingly endless options presented to you. Where do you even begin?
This book is for you if:
You want to earn a decent income working for yourself, without needing to put up any capital.
You want to own your time, and work from anywhere you choose.
You want to get out of the rat race.
You are unemployed, and can’t find a job that’s worthy of your skills.
You are a freelancer, but your career is not taking off, and you’re practically begging clients to hire you.
You’re tired, just tired of spending all of your time working, at a job you no longer enjoy.
This book is not one of those get-rich-quick schemes which are all a scam, in my opinion. If there was any ounce of truth in those schemes, the endorsers would be sailing the seven seas in their own yachts, not building websites or writing books about getting rich quick. But maybe some of them do make decent money, by playing on the financial needs and dreams of people like you. This is not that kind of book. I won’t sell you anything else. You purchasing this book is more than enough.
I just want to share with you the lessons and tricks I learned from my own freelancing experience.
If you read all the tips and guides on the Internet, it will just confuse you. It will sound more complicated than it really is. Truth is, you just need a few things to succeed in this business. Skill, clients, tools, proper mindset, determination, and the desire to learn. These are the topics that we’ll discuss in the following chapters. We’ll break it down and answer the following questions:

How should you do it?
Why should you do it that way?
All the tips and ideas that you’ll find in the next pages are based on my own freelancing experience. It’s meant to be a guide, not a guarantee of greatness. Think of the contents of this book as signposts that can steer you in the right direction. Your own success will depend on your dedication, and your skill level. I’ve done the research and put in the time. This is my way of paying it forward.
I’ll be sharing best practices, good sites that can provide you with a stable income, help you identify skills that can be marketed, and tell you stories that will give you an idea of what to expect as an online freelancer. How you use the information in this book is entirely up to you.

In You Want to Be an Online Freelancer…Now What? Eeva Lancaster spills the beans on exactly what it means to be an online freelancer and what it takes to establish your own viable business. As a successful freelancer herself, Eeva chronicles her journey from executive assistant to full-time online freelancer.
The book begins with the touching personal story of how Eeva realized too late that keeping up with the ‘rat race’ kept her away from the most important things in life. When that served as her wake-up call, she became determined to live a different life independent of corporate confines, and in this book she gives us the benefit of the lessons she’s learned along the way.
Some of the things Eeva outlines include the importance of creating a portfolio of your work, managing your time appropriately, and building up your professional credibility. She lists the essential tools you need to do the work and manage your business.
One of the most important concepts of the book is the fact that “Your skill is your product.” Eeva goes on to discuss some of the most common services that online clients need and she includes examples of job listings offered to freelancers.
Next comes a section where she recommends specific websites where one can register to be a freelancer and browse for jobs and referrals. One of the most vital elements is to create an attractive and effective profile, one that “sells yourself.”
Finally, she discusses the advantages and challenges of freelancing.
This book is full of down-to-earth, practical advice and it’s presented in a positive and encouraging way. I couldn’t have read this book at a better time. My husband was just laid off after fourteen years in local television. He’s talked for a long time about becoming a freelance photographer and now he has the opportunity, along with the great information in this book, to make this dream a reality. What a great book!

Eeva Lancaster began freelancing after her mother passed away. This tragic event helped her to realize that her well paying career as an executive assistant, although in many ways fulfilling, left her with little time to spend with loved ones and actually enjoy life.
"You Want to Be a Freelancer..." holds comprehensive advice and guidelines for people who are interested in entering this competitive field. The book focuses on the necessities: the materials and skill sets one needs to be successful finding work online and doing this work from home. This book is not only for those interested in being freelance writers...there is also information for other types of freelancers, such as graphic designers, social media marketers, video editors, book cover designers, type setters, virtual assistants and more.
Lancaster provides advice on how to prepare a high-quality, professional freelance profile that will increase the likelihood of getting jobs. Her advice is quite clearly from personal experience as she provides examples of what has worked for her and what hasn't. This book is well-worth the read for anyone interested in transitioning to working for themselves from home.
"You Want to Be An Online Freelancer..." is written in very clear, deliberate language. It is a quick, informative read and a great place to start if you are looking to get into freelancing. There are many articles online about freelancing, but like anything one gets for free, they have to be taken with a grain of salt. Lancaster has taken the time to put together a quality product here, and it is the first place I will steer friends looking to get into freelancing work.

To begin, doing a review on a non-fiction book is a very different path from my normal road, but there is always fun to be had in taking those. And this author, Mrs. Eeva Lancaster, is an incredibly talented guide on that pathway through the less traveled.
Now What? is like a traveler’s guidebook to the journey that many are now taking into online freelancing. Be it in whatever form you decide to try your hand, her information is very relevant. East to read, easy to follow, precise instructions to help you achieve your goals, or to at the very least help you take the first steps.
She explained quite clearly in her first chapters that you do not and should not to look at Freelancing as the easy way out. That it is work, hard work, and that (while mentally more satisfying) it is work that can consume your time in ways that even a regular nine-to-five job can’t rival.
But it is also rewarding.
Lancaster details out the who, the where and the why of exactly what to expect from working as a freelancer, as well as the pros and the cons. It will leave you feeling somber, yet empowered at the same time. She may burst the bubble of a few, but to many, this book will show you the balloon that will carry your dreams all the higher. Higher than you ever thought to go, if you’re really willing to work for it.
A wonderful book, easily worth of the praise it has gotten, and it is sure to receive far more. Bravo, Eeva.
