Don’t expect typical fang-sprouting bloodsuckers on this cruise. These vampires are Roman Catholic and they love garlic. An animated cast of characters populates a story that’s seductive and comical. It’s fun, frantic and fabulous. Board The Romanza and set sail on a high-seas adventure that promises a bloody good time.
Summary:
Romance writer Mona Rossi needs to pump up sales, so she organizes a luxury cruise for authors. Her main squeeze, Fausto Silvius, signs on as the ship’s doctor and hopes to make Mona his wife. Nights of passion are one thing but Mona isn’t ready to become one of the undead. Then Fausto’s ex Lucrezia Borgia shows up, claiming their divorce wasn’t legal and he needs to return to Italy with her. She’s not the only one after Fausto. A lunatic extremist group called the Vampire Ball Busters is stalking him. If anything else goes wrong, Mona may have to jump ship.

I mean, I never dreamed I’d get to snag a gorgeous Italian wine connoisseur who models men’s’ undies on the side. Both of them are real renaissance men.” “Oh yeah, you can call them that, all right.” What Mona needed to divulge to her friend in the next few hours, especially before the question pop, was that Fausto and Quintus weren’t human. In A Bloody Good Cruise, Author Diana Rubino takes us on a cruise ship filled with writers. Mona, their hostess and planner uses the cruise as a way to bring writers together as well as promote her own books. Ok, she does have another motive and that is to be close to the love of her life, Fausto Silvius, who is the cruise ship’s doctor and yes he is a vampire. But there is danger in paradise. That danger comes in the form of those who are known as the “Vampire Ball Busters.” They believe all vampires are bad and are devoted to eradicating them. But what happens when one of the Ball Busters ends up being “turned?” I’ll not tell. You’ll have to read the book to find out.

Diana Rubino has done it again. She has taken a topic that most view as horror, turned it into humor and written another book. Oh yeah, she has thrown in some really heated sex along the way. I have to admit, I did enjoyed reading A Bloody Good Cruise, humor, sex and all.

But Mona isn’t certain she wants to enter into a life of vampirism, even if eternal life is one of the benefits. As the cruise departs, treachery plagues Fausto and Mona in the form of a husband and wife team of vampire hunters.

Murder and mayhem and, of course, blood drinking soon ensues. Trouble in the form of Fausto’s ex-wife adds conflict. And who is this terrible ex-wife? Why Lucrezia Borgia herself, who follows her vampire husband through the centuries and refuses to relinquish her claim of him!

In this light-hearted, often comical, paranormal romance, Diana Rubino spices up the pages with sprinklings of her southern Italian backgrounds. From the Catholic Church to rings of garlic, from nefarious members of the mafia to olio e aglio pasta, she truly brings a strong Italian flavour to this novel. Plenty of passionate love scenes add spice to the story.

A Bloody Good Cruise is an entertaining tale with a contemporary, unique plot and zany, colorful characters.
