In Book #3 of the Dead Detective Mysteries, Seamus goes to Toronto to investigate the death of a wardrobe mistress. Something weird is going on, and the dead guy feels like he's being haunted.
When newly-arrived soul Cassie Parker refuses to believe she's no longer alive, Dead Detective Seamus is sent from the Afterlife to learn what happened to her. He soon suspects it was murder, but why would someone kill the costume mistress at a small Toronto theater?
The Dead Detective Series (this is Book #3 but they can be read as stand-alones) is in the realm of Magical Realism, which means they're pretty normal murder mysteries except that some of the characters are--well, dead.
While Cassie struggles to accept that fact, Seamus tries to protect her less worldly sister Christy, who takes over Cassie's job at the theater. As Christy unknowingly wades deeper into danger, Seamus senses an odd presence that comes and goes around her. Along with murder and intended murder, he must solve a question he's never considered before: Can a guy be haunted when he's already dead?

The Afterlife Revisited
I really enjoy a novel that explores the afterlife without preaching one particular religion's afterlife teachings. This is one which opens up a few possibilities, even though it uses a rather human-based way of doing it. Still, I found it an enjoyable read, and I'm interested in seeing the next in this series.

The adventures of Seamus the dead detective continue in Book Three of the series. I love these books. Will have to wait awhile for Book Four.
Seamus Visits Toronto
The latest adventure of the dead detective takes us to an interesting environment. A small theater in downtown Toronto is complete with some large personalities. The author leads us through all the nooks and crannies backstage and details the elements that go into putting on a production. Seamus, the dead detective, takes us into the nooks and crannies of the characters. While the folks at the theater are all fun to get to know, there are some pretty interesting characters on the other side too. This page turner has a good plot with lots of possibilities. The author brings it all to life with details that take you right there. I am looking forward to my next journey with “The Dead Detective”!
