Very Mysterious!
Excellent read!! Definitely not a cozy mystery, which is what I expected, having read other books by this author. This is more a paranormal mystery/thriller. Linty's Grandmother dies under suspicious circumstances leaving Linty the keeper of her dragon statue collection. The dragons have mysterious properties, including one that appears magical. Everyone, including Linty's father, uncle, lawyer, & a mysterious stranger, wants possession of the dragons. As the plot unfolds there are various twists & turns, & a multitude of questions with very little answers. I found myself on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. The only unfortunate part of this book is that we are left with quite a cliffhanger & lots of unanswered questions. I am seriously awaiting the next book in the series where some of these questions may be answered.
What a fun and interesting read
What a fun and interesting read! I really didn't want this book to end. I was very involved with the two main characters, especially Linty. The story, CCC which takes place in Scotland, starts out with the mysterious death of her Grandma, the matriarch of the family and a keeper of very special artifacts, dragons galore! All figurines, of course. However these figurines, are imbued with powers that no one is quite sure of. Linty is charged with the care and protection of the figurines, the manor in which they "reside" and ensuring that no harm comes to them. Our poor protagonist is not sure whom to trust, hrt ner'-to-do-well father, who's a treasure hunter of sorts (and she's not sure if he's playing on the good team or the bad team), a greedy Uncle, a bunch of creepy "gaunts" (dragon collectors who will stop at anything to complete their collections) and a luscious possible love interest.
What a cliffhanger! I'm so ready for book 2!!

Linty is courageous, feisty, responsible, won't back down from a fight, and loves Gran's Dragon collection. All this, Gran was well aware of when she named Linty as heir of her estate; dragons included. This has everyone who knows her (and some who don't!) puzzled or angry. Does everyone have an agenda?
I've never read anything by this author before but i am definitely looking forward to the rest of this series!
