The book tells the backgrounds of Lady Sioux Mountain, a half white-half Shoshone child prodigy, and Joshua Dane Sinclair, a young rancher from Montana who joins the Army to be able to support his family and their generational ranch. Both are horribly tortured and abused by thugs and slave traders while on duty in Kuwait. 

The delves into how horrible things can happen to the most innocent and kind people. It also shows how such atrocities can affect the lives of everyone involved and how some people can become bitter and resentful while others overcome their mutilations and become more than they were originally.

While my books are based in solid science, I have taken that science to its extreme edge.
