Another New Concept for a Book. Wildly Intriguing
This Peculiar Magic by Jenny Kalahar is one of those rare novels that make you go, "You what?" Although I am noted in her Acknowledgements, once I began to read the book, I knew what my real contribution had been. As a fellow cheezepeep, Jenny is well aware of my love for fart jokes. She took a concept she joyfully participated in and turned it into a rabbit hole we are supposed to jump happily into.
Using a premise that children can be forced into a school that will train them to control the aromas of their farts in order to control the goings on of the important waves and motions of politics, banking, etc. The children were "marked" by their relatives only if they were special and able to handle the power they were being asked to assume. As in most powers, some of the children were blessed with additional powers. Unfortunately, to be a truly marked child, they had to go through a loveless life in which they were invisible to their loved ones and even their pets.
I said it was a rabbit hole. Jenny, remind me to watch what you are talking about as a cheesepeeps. It might lead me to discover what your next enjoyable novel will be about.
