Excerpt
When Patrick is almost two years old, just before his birthday, he wakes up all alone at midnight on the twelfth day of the twelfth month—and this is how he learns that he is afraid of the dark.
Now, Patrick has been afraid of things before. The first time he tried to speak was pretty scary, and the elephant at the zoo who tried to drop straw on him was even worse! And then there was the time at the park when a big dog tried to lick his face. Patrick was happy that Mom and Dad could help.
But now in his dark bedroom, all by himself, Patrick is scared and starts to cry. And that’s when his older sister, Margy, comes in to his room. Can she help Patrick stop being afraid? After all, that’s what big sisters are for!
In this children’s book, a small boy learns he’s afraid of the dark, but his older sister is nearby to help him solve the problem.
