Grief and Loss...A Different Perspective was written to be shared with youths and adults. This book is about real life experiences of death causing feelings of sadness, depression, and sympathy for others misfortunes, including losing a pet. The section, JUST FOR LAUGHS, focuses on bringing back memories of old sayings that are guaranteed to make you smile and laugh out loud. Last but not least is the section, FROM ME TO YOU. This is something personal from you to the deceased family members, friends, pets, etc.

Chapter 1
Jacqueline (Jackie)
As years went by, friends and family members were passing away. I was a teen-ager when my sister passed away. She had been diagnosed with Leukemia. She was thirteen months old when she passed away.
I prayed and asked God to save my baby sister from dying. I even promised God that in return, I would become a nun. I didn’t realize what I was doing. I was trying to bargain with God. I just wanted my sister to live.
I did not want to be a nun. I didn’t know anything about being Catholic, except that the neighbor’s children, down the street attended a Catholic school. They also attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
I remember Jackie smiling at me when I talked to her. I could see that she was so weak and I felt so helpless.
My mother and stepfather had to take Jackie to the hospital. When they returned home, my mother was crying, I knew that my baby sister had passed away.
I went to my room without asking any questions. My mother wanted another girl so I would have a sister. I had one brother. My mother had five sisters and two brothers. My mother had two more children and they were boys.
Years passed by and I grew older. I began to think about death as more family members and friends were passing away. I was always a “thinker.” I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, good or bad, one must move on.

My wife passed away 3 years ago . I miss my wife every day. I am still grieving. I have kept myself busy with my garden, photography, flower planting, etc. My children are grown and they live in another state. We talk often.
I often think about things I could have said or shouldn't have said to my wife whenever we disagreed about something. In spite of our disagreements, I loved my wife and I know she loved me.
I am expressing my personal feelings on the pages in the book section FROM ME TO YOU. I have included pictures and small trinkets that remind me of my wife. I have laughed and wiped my eyes as I read Grief and Loss...A Different Perspective by Shirley Luckado-McReynolds.
I have ordered 2 more books to give to friends. One friend lost her husband and another friend's pet had to be put to sleep due to an illness.
I feel they will benefit from reading this book and it will help to encourage and motivate them to grieve less and move on.
I highly recommend this book to relatives, friends and their families.
