The author has brought General Patton to life (in a favorable light!) through his rescue of these horses. It was delightful to have the story "told by" the horses too. A must share with any history buff or animal lover

Pat has done it again. She has taken an historical event and turned it into a readable story. With her unique style, care of history and sprinkling of humor, she praises the courage and compassion of the people responsible for saving the POWs and the famed Lipizzans.

This is a great book. It is so interesting, loved the photos and large print, and learned a lot! Thumbs up! The authors style made it very easy and delightful to read.
I can see from the titles that you are a lover of horses and history. It is good that you have brought these historical stories to light in your books. I like horses but I'm not able to ride them or to care for them so I am not close.
A friend of mine, wrote a book about his great-great-grandfather, and Ohioan who joined a West Virginia regiment with his horse and became part of the cavalry. He did a lot of research and found out information that allowed him to write the book. I edited the book for him.
