What A Great Book - Murder, Espionage and War
This is a very impressive book covering political, military and intelligence aspects of China, Japan, North and South Korea, Russia and the US. As a retired Army officer having served in Japan, the Rok and China I was really taken with the author's knowledge of the cultures, customs and contemporary history of the region. I was so taken with the gripping story unfolding I read the book as quickly as I could. You will too.
This Book is Amazing - Best Book I Have Read in Years
I was simply blown away by this book. It is the best I have read in years. The plot is realistic, it moved along and was not cluttered with unimportant details page after page. The author's insight into the diplomatic core, military, etc. is amazing and very informative. I don't want to spoil the plot but one thing I really liked was unlike so many "thrillers" is that the many subplots actually tied together and didn't just appear to be there as page fillers. Also, possible spoiler, I just can't stand books where the bad guys kill thousands of innocents, usually Americans, and we kill four terrorists and call it a win. I read one review that the terrorist appear to be idiots, cannot disagree more. Acutally one of the few books where the good guys do not appear to be idiots and let thousands die and then "win".
I actually screamed "yes" out loud concerning the final plot twist concerning the ruler of North Korea.
Finally, THE BOOK ACTUALLY ENDED! Oh sure the stage was set for another, but the plot for this one ENDED.
