The book explains the characteristics of one of the Dark Triad disorders, narcissism, I am not a diagnostician, but what I have written here is based on extensive research and personal experience. The book will be a memoir consisting of poetry, my experiences, and what I’ve learned using the Twelve Powers of Unity Church established by Charles Fillmore, its Co-Founder. Each section will consist of poetry, what I experienced and what I’ve learned, and healing or clearing methods. Additional sections on Trauma and Light will follow the same basic format. Excerpt When I began writing this book, I was still in the process of recovery. Writing was healing for me, but I had additional reasons for starting this project. I wanted to create a legacy for my family so that those who came after me could break the cycle of addiction and abuse and gain strength to stand up against injustice and toxic behavior. The detail and emotions that I express based on my experiences bear witness to the harm individuals with these personality disorders can inflict. I want others to avoid such harm. As I learned about these disorders and different emotional and spiritual healing techniques, I realized how many of us suffer, often in silence. I believe that my experience and the healing practices I employed, as well as the poems that were a response to the trauma I suffered, can help others heal. The damage inflicted by those with toxic personalities is a kind of spiritual soul damage, and I believe healing must be done at the spiritual as well as emotional level. Since these practices were helpful to me, I have confidence that the healing methods described here will help others raise their spiritual vibration and enhance spiritual healing at a deep level for those who practice them. I hope that sharing my experience and intense study of the subject will help other survivors find a way out and enable them to heal more quickly. My mission now is to give back, to help others, and to contribute to the good of society by bringing light where darkness exists and by exposing abuse where abuse exists. I also hope that many of the insights and healing practices detailed here will help future generations of my family and yours, just as they have helped me.

Mariel Gordon has not only shared her own personal story, a powerful one, but she has used both informative prose and heart-touching poetry that is not only brutally honest and raw but incredibly visual and beautiful. I cannot resist comparing her writing to that of Mark Nepo, in that it is clearly written from a place of knowing and reflects so wonderfully the evolution of Ms. Gordon's spiritual journey and consciousness, all the while remaining feet-on-the-ground honest. Her incorporation of Unity's 12 Powers is handled in a very effective and useful manner! Be prepared to learn some very unsettling things about the "Dark Triad" personalities!
