Dannie soon learns this is a fight she must win because she received her gifts for a unique purpose.
Excerpt
As Dannie walked around her car and approached the driver’s side, their neighbor’s puppy raced over to her. Not quite a year old, every time the puppy saw Dannie come out, he would run over to receive some attention.
As the evening sun was setting, this evening seemed no different from any other day. The puppy ran over as Dannie walked down the drive to go around her car.
Then a fissure opened up in front of her. It looked like a tear in the seam of a dress, but then widened to where it stretched about three feet wide in the middle, reached nearly twelve feet into the air, while the bottom was four feet underground.
Peering in, it appeared white as though on a gloomy fall or winter day. Dannie, walking briskly, stepped right into the fissure before she could stop herself. The last thing she saw was the puppy just two feet from her.
“Is this a porthole to another dimension?” she asked herself. Dannie had crossed to a barren landscape with a yellow tint to it. Even the light appeared tainted. She could see nothing except for a single building barely visible in the haze. There was the smell of rotting eggs in the air as she approached the building and the feeling of death all around her.
The Genuine Daughter is the most touching of my books. Maybe it was the way Dannie was raised in such desperate conditions or maybe I sympathize with her more because I have a daughter. It could be both these perspectives. Either way, Dannie was able to climb out of poverty and succeed in life because her mother wanted life to change for her.
Again, waking up from these dreams was often heart breaking to see someone having to grow with the fear and angst that she endured. When it came to the dreams where she triumph over these condition my heart sang for her success. Then she learned about her powers and grew more confidence, it became a joy to wake up to those dreams. Seeing the creatures she had to fight and I woke up thankful she was fighting them and not me.
Dannie is an example of positive influences effecting predominately in her life. Then she takes the positivity and shares it with others through her restaurant and supernatural abilities. She is a caring hero that goes beyond expectations to help others and save the world from demonic possession. It is fascinating to dream of her successes and I hope you are equally fascinated by the telling of her life.
