The train to nowhere moves quickly!
Having read most of Jerold Last’s Roger and Suzanne series, I looked forward to a fast paced, action-filled mystery. I was happy to see that this new addition continued on this track even though the train in the title didn’t move. Last introduces a new character, a Mossad agent who will join his detective agency. Not wanting to provide any spoilers, let’s just say that the agent has notable similarity to another of Last’s characters, which are useful to the plot. One difference from many of the previous novels is little mention of either dogs or science that have figured prominently in previous stories. Nonetheless, this international murder mystery provides descriptions of the food and local places of interest as the investigation moves forward with some twists and turns. A fun read!
Great Book
A captivating read. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in an engaging storyline. You'll have a hard time putting it down.
A new character was introduced—-Shasta.
“A Train to Nowhere “ by Jerold Last read very smoothly, and helped fill about 4 hours on a weekend. Roger and some of his helpers were joined by a new agent, Shasta, who turns out to be friendly to the cause of solving the crime. Whether she joins the group permanently or not remains to be seen. Suzanne was more in the background in this book. Maybe we readers will see a different direction in future books.
Children will enjoy reading and hearing about the silly antics of a puppy still learning how to be a good listener. This story is about Riley, a cute, little, rescue puppy who gets into all sorts of predicaments.
