“What have you done with my best friend?” Karen ran her hand through her boy-cut auburn hair as she stepped inside Brynn’s loft apartment. Her chocolate eyes looked questioningly at the television that was tuned to a popular gossip show and the coffee table littered with entertainment magazines and tabloids.
“What?” Brynn asked, her sandy eyes widening in fake innocence.
“You know what. You never read or watch anything but news and PBS.”
“It’s research. I don’t want to embarrass myself when I get to Hollywood.”
“You’ll be fine. Whatever you read about today will have changed by the time you get there anyway.” Karen walked to the kitchen area. “Is this coffee fresh?”
“Close enough. Pour me a cup, too. Did you see this review of the season finale of the show?” Brynn picked up a Hollywood Reporter.
