Everyone wants to find love, even Geezers. But the road to love is often peppered with detours, hazards, and some very amusing anecdotes. Enter a world of middle-age cyber dating.
Sal Marino is a known connoisseur of fun. Enjoying a reputation in some artistic circles as the “Founder of the Funism Art Movement,” Marino’s unique vision of the world and human relationships is punctuated by a wry and sometimes cryptic observation of everyday life. He is a humorist, an artist, a photographer, a musician, a writer, a poet, a comedian, a tinkerer, an inventor, a businessman, a lover, a father and most importantly, a “Funist.” A modern adaptation of Renaissance Man, Marino has forged a strong creative foundation upon which the building blocks of an eclectic, yet distinctive point of view is rooted.
Marino’s most recent creative endeavors and observations are reflected in his book, “Net.Date,” which is a humorous account of the trials and tribulations of middle-aged cyber dating. Journey through a world where Geezers, Granny Stalkers, Pathological Liars, Sociopath’s, Modern Day Witches, and just plain Nut Jobs ply their trades in an attempt to find the last great love of their life. With an affirmed denial of misogyny, and a devoted admiration of the female gender, Marino relates hilarious anecdotes in his middle-aged cyber search for a mate.
The modern notion of cyber shopping for love has seemingly replaced the more human concept of boy meets girl, but with it comes the frustrations, disappointments and certainly the humor of a love quest. Ultimately, what we all hope for is a romantically satisfying happy ending. What we get is often comically different.

Excerpt
"Little did I know that Lisa must have been a College Arm Wrestling Champion, because she deflected every outreach attempt I made with the precision and strength of a woman determined to win a contest. She easily swept my efforts aside.
“Let’s just kiss,” she said. Befuddled by a High School stop sign, I thought that perhaps she just needed some more warm-up time. We returned to lip-lock and continued for what seemed like an eternity. Each time I sensed that things were heating up and it would be time to advance to the next round, the Arm Wrestler easily pinned me.
This continued till 4 AM, with minimal respites to drench my now on-fire lips with cold water, and the occasional rest room visits to catch my breath. On one such visit I remember looking in the mirror and thinking my lips were starting to look like Angelina Jolie after enhanced collagen treatments. I don’t think sixty grit sandpaper could have had a more devastating effect."
